Damyang-gun will raise the discount rate on its local gift certificates from 12 percent to 17 percent throughout September in celebration of chuseok.
Mobile and card-type certificates will receive an upfront 15 percent discount when topped up, with an additional 2 percent cashback on spending.
The special discount runs through Sept. 30, but will revert to the standard 12 percent rate once the allocated budget is exhausted.
"I hope the expanded discount benefits help ease the burden on households and bring vitality to local businesses," Damyang-gun Mayor Park Jong-won said. He also encouraged visitors to enjoy the county's tourist attractions during the holiday period, including Juknokwon and the Metasequoia Tree-Lined Road.
