The Kangwon Land audit committee has been named the top public enterprise at the Board of Audit and Inspection's 2026 Public Institution Self-Audit Activity Awards, earning a commendation from the auditor general.
According to the Board of Audit and Inspection and Kangwon Land on Saturday, the ceremony presented institutional commendations to top-performing and most-improved organizations, as well as individual commendations to 14 outstanding auditors. Kangwon Land received the top honor for improvements in audit report quality, the establishment of a proactive administrative support and pre-consultation system, and strong results in institutional reform.
The recognition marks a notable milestone: Kangwon Land first received a development institution award in 2020, and this year claimed the top institutional commendation for the first time in its history. Lee Chang-ho, a department head at the Kangwon Land audit office, also received an individual commendation as an outstanding auditor.
"We are pleased that our sustained efforts to enhance auditor expertise and performance have borne fruit," said Ahn Gwang-bok, standing audit committee member at Kangwon Land. "As a public enterprise operating a large-scale multipurpose facility, we will continue to do our utmost in conducting fair and rigorous self-audits and proactive risk management, in line with the Board of Audit and Inspection's direction of improving public safety and strengthening official discipline."
