Ulleung-gun appoints actor Jung Tae-woo, comedian Kim Wan-gi as tourism ambassadors

Ulleung-gun in North Gyeongsang Province appointed actor Jung Tae-woo and comedian Kim Wan-gi as honorary tourism ambassadors at a ceremony held Friday at the county office.

Jung has built a familiar image across generations through a long career in acting, while Kim is known for his warm and upbeat hosting style, keeping busy across television, live performances and other entertainment fields.

"It is an honor to serve as a tourism ambassador for the beautiful Ulleung-gun," Jung said. "I will do my best to share the hidden charms and special stories of Ulleungdo with as many people as possible."

Kim said he would "spread the beauty and value of Ulleung-gun far and wide through various local events and promotional activities."

Ulleung-gun County Mayor Nam Han-kwon said he hopes the two ambassadors' warm and energetic presence will help bring the island's beauty and appeal to audiences across the country and draw more tourists to Ulleung.
