Stray Kids' Lee Know donates W100m to aid Nepal flood victims

World Vision, an international humanitarian NGO, announced Monday that Lee Know, a member of K-pop group Stray Kids, has donated 100 million won ($72,600) to support victims of flooding in Nepal — the latest instance of a K-pop artist voluntarily contributing to overseas disaster relief.

The funds will go toward emergency relief for communities hit by recent large-scale flooding. World Vision said it plans to focus on food and nutrition, temporary shelter, and clean water and sanitation, based on field assessments, to help survivors rebuild their daily lives.

"I hope this can be a small source of strength for those going through difficult times," Lee Know said. "I sincerely hope that the flood victims and everyone working on relief efforts in the field can return to a peaceful daily life as soon as possible."

Major flooding struck Nepal's Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts on Wednesday, washing out roads and bridges and cutting off access to some areas. World Vision said it has secured 1,000 emergency relief kits and is conducting damage and needs assessments as well as market surveys to facilitate cash and voucher assistance.

Lee Know began sponsoring children through World Vision's overseas child sponsorship program in 2014 and currently supports four children in Korea and abroad. He contributed to emergency relief efforts following the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake and donated 100 million won to World Vision's global food crisis response project in 2024, becoming the youngest member of the Bob Pierce Honor Club. In 2025, he joined fellow Stray Kids members in supporting victims of domestic wildfires, continuing his support for disaster relief.

World Vision President Cho Myung-hwan thanked Lee Know for his consistent generosity. "We are deeply grateful to Lee Know for his sustained attention and support for neighbors in need, both at home and abroad," Cho said. "We will do our utmost to ensure that his precious donation reaches the children and residents of Nepal who have lost their homes to this sudden disaster as quickly as possible."
