Black Eagles Confirmed for 4th Gwangsan Music Festival on Sept. 19

Gwangsan-gu has confirmed that the Republic of Korea Air Force's elite aerobatic team, the Black Eagles, will perform a celebratory flyover at the 4th Gwangsan Music On Festival, the district announced Tuesday.

The festival, themed "Connected City Gwangsan, United Through Music," will run Sept. 19-20 at Hwangnyong Waterfront Park.

The two-day event will feature live performances by top-tier acts including Jaurim, Dynamic Duo, No Brain and Dragon Pony, along with fireworks, horseback riding experiences and picnic zones offering a range of citizen-participation programs.

The addition of the Black Eagles' celebratory flight is expected to elevate the urban picnic festival experience.

The Black Eagles will perform a spectacular air show over Hwangnyong Waterfront Park at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, the festival's opening day.

Composed of domestically produced T-50B supersonic advanced trainer jets, the Black Eagles are regarded as one of the world's premier aerobatic teams, renowned for their precision flying and tight formation discipline.

The team previously performed at the 2nd and 3rd Gwangsan Music On Festival, dazzling crowds with aerial displays above the park and stoking the festival's energy.

This year's air show — the team's third consecutive appearance — is expected to be a highlight for the many visitors attending the festival.

Against the backdrop of the Hwangnyong River and the autumn sky, the team plans to deliver a stirring performance featuring dynamic formation flying, their signature Taeguk-pattern maneuvers and other high-difficulty aerobatic routines.

"It is truly meaningful to have the Republic of Korea Air Force Black Eagles join the Gwangsan Music On Festival again this year," Gwangsan-gu District Mayor Park Byeong-gyu said. "We hope many people will come and enjoy the magnificent air show set against Gwangsan's clear autumn sky, paired with the sweet sounds of live music at the 4th Gwangsan Music On Festival."
