An invitational exhibition by artist Kim Ga-beom is on view through Oct. 11 at the Pallas Partners Seongsu gallery in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
Kim has long worked by layering colors on the canvas and building up thick, expressive brushstrokes. The exhibition presents works that bring together intense color and free-flowing brushwork. Compositions centered on shades of blue are particularly striking, shifting between raw, turbulent movement and a deep, contemplative stillness.
The recurring interplay of line and color across the works does not seek to reproduce a single scene but rather to capture the sensations and energy that emerge through the act of painting itself. The exhibition offers a close look at Kim's consistent exploration of color and brushwork.
