Yeungnam University of Science and Technology holds info session for 2027 work-study program applicants

Yeungnam University of Science and Technology held an information session Saturday for prospective students and parents interested in its 2027 work-study parallel program, at the Cheonma Square audiovisual hall on campus.

A total of 155 people attended, including 111 students and 44 parents from 26 high schools across Daegu, North Gyeongsang Province, Ulsan and Busan.

The university provided information on the sense of responsibility required to participate in the work-study program, the basic attitudes expected in the workplace, and methods of self-management for balancing academic coursework with on-site duties.

Parents received a detailed overview of how the program operates, aimed at helping them support their children's career choices and workplace adjustment with a clear understanding of what the program entails.

Students gained a thorough introduction to the program's characteristics and teaching methods ahead of enrollment.

The university is continuously strengthening the link between university education and corporate field training to help students develop the job competencies demanded by industry and make a stable transition into the workforce.

"The work-study parallel program is a combined employment-and-study curriculum in which students expected to graduate from high school enroll at a company while simultaneously completing an associate degree at the university," President Lee Jae-yong said.
