Four screenings nightly under the bridge beginning Tuesday
Incheon's Cheongna Sky Bridge will transform into a giant outdoor screen after sunset.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is launching a nighttime video installation called "Media Lounge" under the bridge starting Tuesday. The program turns the broad space beneath the bridge deck into an open-air screen, letting visitors strolling along the waterfront enjoy large-scale video content framed by the surrounding sea and bridge structure.
A key draw is its accessibility: visitors can simply happen upon the display during a seaside walk, with no need to seek out a dedicated facility.
The inaugural program takes the four seasons as its theme, moving through the bright colors of spring, the lush greens of summer, the deepening hues of autumn and the stillness of winter to create an after-dark atmosphere unlike anything the bridge offers by day.
With the sea and bridge as a backdrop, organizers expect the nighttime setting to produce a mood entirely different from the daytime experience.
Screenings run four times nightly from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Showtimes will be adjusted as autumn sunsets grow earlier.
The authority plans to develop the Media Lounge beyond a simple screening program into a broader tourism and cultural offering that makes full use of Cheongna Sky Bridge's nighttime scenery.
