Lee Ji-hye catches daughter seeking AI comfort in bathroom after scolding: 'Cute, but somehow scary'

Singer and broadcaster Lee Ji-hye, a former member of the group Shap, discovered that her daughter had turned to an AI chatbot for comfort after being scolded.

Lee shared a screenshot on her Instagram account of a conversation between her daughter and an AI. "I scolded her in the morning, and she went into the bathroom to chat with AI," she wrote.

In the exchange, the daughter told the AI, "Mom never understands how I feel." The AI responded with empathy, saying, "That must really hurt," and added, "Especially when the person you most want to understand you is your mom — if it keeps feeling like she doesn't get you, that disappointment runs so much deeper."

The daughter also confided that her younger sibling kept kicking her in bed but would claim to be stretching whenever their mother appeared. After acknowledging her frustration, the AI offered a suggestion: "How about trying to tell your mom something like this: 'Mom, it already hurts that my sibling kicks me, but it hurts even more when it feels like you believe them over me. I'm not lying, so I wish you'd believe me too.'"

Lee described her eldest daughter as "both adorable and heartbreaking," then added, "But somehow it's a little scary."
