Chilgok-gun in North Gyeongsang Province said Tuesday that the "2026 Waegwan Holy Festival," held at Waegwan Abbey, concluded successfully.
About 30,000 people attended the festival, now in its second year, which ran under the slogan "The Moment Holy Becomes Holiday" from Friday to Sunday.
The event combined the religious and historical value of Waegwan Abbey, which carries some 120 years of history, with modern cultural content, delivering a message of healing and peace to visitors.
Visitors also enjoyed rare experiences, including Gregorian chants and pipe organ performances that echoed through the cathedral, talk concerts with clergy members, and abbey tours guided by monks.
Chilgok-gun Governor Kim Jae-uk said, "We will continue to develop differentiated healing and cultural tourism content based on Chilgok-gun's unrivaled Catholic cultural heritage."
