Goryeong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province and the Goryeong Culture and Tourism Foundation held the "2026 Goryeong National Heritage Night — Daegaya: A Beautiful Night" from Friday to Sunday, wrapping up the three-day event successfully at the Daegaya History Theme Tourist Site.
According to Goryeong-gun on Tuesday, this year's night tour linked the county's historical and cultural heritage with the new setting of nighttime, offering a range of programs themed around "eight nights" — night views, night roads, night tales, night histories, night stories, night markets, night snacks and night stays.
This year's event drew about 26,000 visitors.
Set against the backdrop of Daegaya's historical and cultural assets, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jisan-dong Tumuli, the event combined nighttime scenery, performances, hands-on experiences and historical programs to present the county's heritage in a fresh light.
Fire- and light-themed programs drew a particularly strong response from visitors, including the "Daegaya Nakhwanori" (a traditional falling-embers fire performance) held around Ureukji on Saturday, along with the "Fire Goblin Performance" and "The Candle in Goryeong."
"I am grateful to everyone who visited Goryeong and enjoyed the National Heritage Night with us," said Lee Seung-ik, CEO of the Goryeong Culture and Tourism Foundation. "Next year, we will prepare even more carefully to present a National Heritage Night that is new, fun and memorable for a long time."
