Running Sept. 7 through Dec. 31 for 100 unemployed young residents of Gwanak-gu, the non-face-to-face service offers customized AI coaching for drafting, revising and refining cover letters
Gwanak-gu will run a customized artificial intelligence-based cover letter coaching service for young job seekers in the district, aimed at strengthening their employment readiness.
The district developed the project in partnership with Gravy Lab, a company that took part in the "Gwanak S-Valley Enterprise Public Service Pilot Support MOU" in July. The partnership aims to ease the burden of preparing job application documents and boost young job seekers' competitiveness.
Under the AI-based coaching service, participants enter their resume along with personal career information and details about the company and position they are applying for. Based on that information, the AI then provides customized help across several areas. These include drafting an initial cover letter, refining sentence expression and readability, strengthening how experience and abilities are conveyed, and writing out the applicant's motivation and post-hire goals.
Particularly, the service is available entirely online, with no in-person consultation required. Participants can revise and refine their cover letters an unlimited number of times during the service period, adding convenience to the job-preparation process. Through the service, the district plans to help young people organize their strengths and experience more concretely and prepare application documents suited to their target positions.
The service will run from Sept. 7 through Dec. 31, and is open to 100 unemployed young people between the ages of 19 and 39 who live or are active in Gwanak-gu.
Applicants can apply through an online application form by submitting basic information such as their residency status in Gwanak-gu and job-seeking status. Selected participants will receive individual guidance on how to use the service.
Through the project, the district aims to reduce the burden of preparing job application documents for young job seekers and support practical job-search preparation. After the project ends, the district plans to analyze usage data and satisfaction survey results to inform future youth-focused employment support policies.
The district has been rolling out step-by-step support for young people, from job preparation to entry into the workforce. This includes support for youth language and certification exam fees, the "Gwanak-type Youth Job and Startup Academy" and the "Gwanak Stepping Stone Youth Jobs" program.
"We want to use artificial intelligence to help young people write and improve their cover letters more easily," District Mayor Park Jun-hee said. "We will continue to develop policies that provide real, practical help for young people's job searches."
