Sept. 9-22: 100 winners to get 20,000-won Dongducheon Love Card via lottery
Dongducheon said Wednesday it will hold a hometown donation event during the chuseok holiday to promote the Hometown Love Donation System and encourage greater public participation.
Those who donate 100,000 won ($74) or more to Dongducheon through the Hometown Love e-eum online platform or any NH Nonghyup Bank branch nationwide are automatically entered into the drawing. They must also order a reciprocal gift to qualify. The event runs from Sept. 9 to 22.
The city will select 100 winners through a random drawing and give each a 20,000-won Dongducheon Love Card, a local currency. The city will notify winners individually by text message in late September, limited to those who agreed to receive SMS notifications through the Hometown Love e-eum system.
The Hometown Love Donation System allows people to donate to a local government other than where they live. Donors receive tax deductions and reciprocal gifts worth up to 30 percent of their donation amount, with the funds used to boost residents' welfare.
Dongducheon Mayor Park Hyung-deok said, "Participating in this event lets you enjoy three benefits at once — tax deductions, reciprocal gifts and event prizes." He added, "I hope many people will take part in the Hometown Love Donation System this chuseok and support Dongducheon."
