Dalseong-gun in Daegu said Wednesday that Seo Kyung-hyun, former deputy district mayor of Jung-gu, has taken office as the county's 23rd deputy mayor.
Seo entered public service in 2003 after passing the eighth local civil service exam. He has since held key posts at the Daegu Metropolitan Government and central government agencies, building policy expertise in the economy, industry and future innovation.
He served as head of the economic policy division at Daegu's Office of Creative Economy, director general of future ICT, and future innovation policy officer. He is credited with broad administrative experience spanning local economic revitalization to future industries and innovation policy.
Dalseong-gun is emerging as a hub leading Daegu's future industries. The county is building an industrial ecosystem centered on the Daegu Second National Industrial Complex and sectors such as robotics and mobility, where companies can gather and grow.
Seo's extensive experience in economic and industrial policy and his capacity for metropolitan-level administration are expected to strengthen the county's competitiveness in future industries. They are also expected to help attract businesses and revitalize the local economy.
"I will do my best to ensure that Dalseong-gun's major issues and projects proceed without a hitch," Seo said. "Particularly, I will actively reflect the voices from the townships and villages in county administration and work closely with the Daegu Metropolitan Government to support Dalseong-gun's new leap forward."
