Gyeongbuk Health College held the fourth session of its "2026 Practical Job-Preparation Lecture Series" for second-year nursing students on Tuesday at the college's Mokin Hall, marking its 70th anniversary hall, in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.
Kim Hong-jin, chief executive of digital health care firm Hicarenet, delivered the lecture on the theme "The Digital Health Care Era: New Roles and Career Paths for Nurses."
Through the lecture, students explored how the scope of nursing work is expanding beyond the traditional path centered on clinical care into digital health care and smart medical fields. They used the session to clarify the skills and job-preparation strategies needed for a changing medical environment.
"Digital health care is not completed by technology alone -- the role of professionals who deeply understand patients and the medical scene is crucial," Kim said. "I hope talent equipped with both nursing expertise and digital capabilities will lead the coming changes in health care services."
