Mapo-gu District Mayor Yu Dong-gyun Connects With Residents at Community Festivals

Mapo-gu District Mayor Yu Dong-gyun visited community festivals held across the district Saturday, spending time with residents to foster communication and unity.

At 11 a.m., Yu attended the 7th Hapjeong-dong Dream Festival at the lawn plaza of Mapo Saevit Culture Forest, where he extended warm words of appreciation to the Hapjeong-dong Dream Festival Organizing Committee and local residents for their efforts in preparing and running the event.

He then took part in the opening performance marking the start of the festival and congratulated attendees on its successful launch, before making his way through the grounds to greet residents in person.

At noon, Yu visited the Seongsan Dumul Village Festival — themed "Everyone Together, from Children to Elders" — hosted by the Seongsan Community Welfare Center. With chuseok approaching, he offered warm wishes to elderly residents and neighbors, sharing in the spirit of the holiday.

"Community festivals are a precious occasion to share our hearts with neighbors and restore the vitality of our community," Yu said. "Mapo-gu will do its utmost to ensure that these gatherings — which bring joy to residents' daily lives and strengthen our bonds — continue to thrive."
