Goryeong-gun holds final review meeting for 6th community welfare plan

Goryeong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province held a final presentation and deliberation meeting for its 6th Community Social Security Plan on Thursday at Ureuk Hall in the county office, with about 30 attendees including members of the local community social security council, researchers and civil servants.

The meeting was convened to conduct a final review of the plan's development process and to deliberate on and adopt key tasks and strategic projects drawn from objective social indicator analysis, a resident needs survey and in-depth field interviews. The plan will serve as a roadmap for Goryeong-gun's welfare policy over the next four years, from 2027 to 2030.

The community social security plan is a statutory plan under the Act on the Use and Provision of Social Security Benefits and the Search for Eligible Recipients, serving as a blueprint for a range of social security policies aimed at improving residents' quality of life.

The 6th plan sets "a strong Goryeong where everyone grows together and all can thrive" as its vision, putting forward a total of 57 projects — 37 social security projects tailored specifically to Goryeong-gun and 20 regional development strategy projects.

"We will implement the finalized plans without disruption and build a close-knit, caring welfare community that every resident can feel in their daily lives," a county official said.
