Inspector accused of gapjil and sexually inappropriate remarks toward subordinate
Jeju police, already under fire for improperly closing a missing woman's case, are now facing fresh allegations of workplace misconduct. An inspector at a local police substation is accused of subjecting a subordinate to gapjil and sexually inappropriate remarks, and has since been transferred.
A complaint was filed against Inspector A, attached to a substation under the Jeju Provincial Police Agency, alleging that he committed gapjil and made sexual comments toward a subordinate, Yonhap reported Sunday. Police transferred him to a different post to separate him from the victim and have launched an internal affairs investigation. "An inspection is currently underway to verify the facts," a police official said.
