BNK Financial to host Busan International Music Festival ensemble concert Friday

BNK Financial Group announced it will host the "2026 17th Busan International Music Festival — Ensemble Concert IV" as part of its "Play on BNK" cultural performance series Friday at 7 p.m. at the Ocean Hall on the second floor of Busan Bank's main branch.

The concert marks the 27th edition of "Play on BNK," BNK Financial Group's flagship cultural performance program, which presents stages spanning classical and popular music, comedy and lectures. The event is being held in partnership with the Busan International Music Festival, the city's premier international music festival.

The program features Brahms' Piano Trio No. 1 and Mendelssohn's String Octet. The concert moves from a trio to an eight-performer ensemble, offering audiences a chance to experience the depth of two distinct chamber music configurations in a single sitting. The performance runs approximately 70 minutes.

Nine performers will take the stage, including violinist Florin Iliescu, concertmaster of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Kim Sung-im, an associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Local artists will also perform alongside the internationally active musicians, among them violinist Kim Dong-wook, a professor at Pusan National University and former concertmaster of the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra.

Admission is free. Audiences can apply through the "Morak" category in Busan Bank's mobile banking app through Thursday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on the day of the performance.

"At the 'Play on BNK' KNN Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra invitation concert held last August, we presented Saint-Saëns' 'The Carnival of the Animals' to make classical music easy and accessible for everyone," a BNK Financial Group official said. "BNK will continue to bring regional culture and the arts closer to the everyday lives of citizens."
