Hanwha TotalEnergies holds 'Seosan Table Day' to support local farmers and customers

Hanwha TotalEnergies said Wednesday it visited Daejin Co., a client company in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, to hold its "Seosan Table Day" event, delivering packages of locally sourced agricultural and marine products.

The Seosan Table Day program began in 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic was straining the local economy. The initiative involves bulk purchases of agricultural and marine products from the Seosan region, which are then delivered to client companies in a show of mutual support with the local community.

For this year's event, Hanwha TotalEnergies spent about 70 million won ($51,700) to procure 27 types of Seosan specialty products, including Tteumebugi rice, gamtae caramel, salted oysters and traditional Korean confections. The items were professionally packaged and delivered to 83 client companies.

"Since 2021, we have consistently held the Seosan Table Day every year and have received a warm response from both the local community and our clients," a company official said. "We will continue to explore a variety of ways to grow together with the local community and our customers."

Meanwhile, Hanwha TotalEnergies carries out a range of corporate social responsibility activities for the local community and its clients, including donations to a social contribution fund in Seosan, where its factory is located.
