White House chief of staff declares herself cancer-free six months after early breast cancer diagnosis

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in March, said six months later that she is cancer-free.

Wiles shared the news on her X account, saying she had "some personal news to share with a grateful heart." After receiving test results at the Mayo Clinic this week, she said pathology reports showed no abnormalities. "I am cancer-free," she wrote.

After thanking her family, friends, doctors and supporters, Wiles extended special gratitude to President Donald Trump. "I am especially grateful to President Donald Trump for his unwavering support," she wrote, adding that she would continue working to advance his America First agenda.

Earlier in March, Trump announced on Truth Social that Wiles had "unfortunately been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer" and had "decided to confront this challenge immediately rather than put it off."

"She has a fantastic medical team and the prognosis is excellent," Trump said. "During her treatment she will be at the White House on an essentially full-time basis, which makes me, as president, very happy."

Shortly after posting the message, Trump seated Wiles directly to his left at a press conference held ahead of a White House luncheon with the Trump-Kennedy Center board of directors.

Wiles also disclosed her diagnosis on X at the time, saying she was grateful "to have an outstanding medical team who caught the cancer early and are guiding my treatment," and that she was drawing strength from a "very positive prognosis."

"I am deeply grateful for the support and encouragement President Trump has shown me as I continue my duties as chief of staff while undergoing treatment," she added.
