Han-dok Motors, an official BMW Group Korea dealer, has completed a full renovation of its Gwangju Pyeongdong service center, equipping it with 40 work bays capable of handling everything from consumable replacements and heavy repairs to accident restoration under one roof.
BMW Group Korea announced Friday that Han-dok Motors had finished renovating the BMW Gwangju Pyeongdong Service Center, located in Woljeong-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, and begun full operations.
The center spans a total floor area of 7,456 square meters across four above-ground floors. It adopts BMW Group's latest spatial concept, "Retail.NEXT," with vehicle check-in and customer waiting areas on the ground floor.
The maintenance facility comprises 40 work bays, supporting routine consumable replacements and inspections as well as heavy-duty repairs. Sheet metal and painting facilities are also on site, enabling full accident restoration services.
Of the 40 bays, 27 are dedicated to general maintenance. For vehicles enrolled in BMW Service Inclusive, the brand's complimentary consumable replacement program, BMW guarantees a turnaround within two hours of check-in, aiming to cut customer wait times.
The service center sits within Pyeongdong Industrial Complex, one of Gwangju's major industrial zones. It is about a 10-minute drive from the Unsu interchange on the Muan-Gwangju Expressway and roughly a one-minute walk from Pyeongdong Station on Gwangju Metro Line 1.
The center operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
BMW has been investing in customer-facing service infrastructure alongside growing domestic sales. Kolon Motors this month completed back-to-back renovations of its Busan Gwangalli service center and its Bundang, Gyeonggi Province showroom. On the sales front, BMW registered 6,180 new vehicles in South Korea in August, ranking second among imported passenger car brands behind Tesla. The brand's cumulative battery electric vehicle sales from January through August this year reached 5,895 units.
