Simmons hosts ESG Leading University program visit for second consecutive year

Simmons announced Friday that students enrolled in the "2026 ESG (environmental, social and governance) Leading University" program — run by Kyonggi University and the Gyeonggi Province Social Economy Center — visited Simmons Terrace and Simmons Factorium in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. It was the second consecutive year the program has brought students to Simmons' ESG operations.

The ESG Leading University program trains ESG professionals by giving them hands-on exposure to corporate management processes and ESG practices. About 60 participants attended the visit, examining how Simmons integrates ESG management into its manufacturing processes and community partnership activities.

Students toured the sleep research and development center and quality testing facilities inside Simmons Factorium, and observed the mattress manufacturing process from spring production through final inspection.

They also visited Heritage Alley, a brand museum at Simmons Terrace, along with the Terrace Store. Lee Jong-seong, Simmons' executive vice president of production and logistics strategy, delivered a special lecture that day, fielding questions from students on real-world ESG management applications, community engagement, and production and business operations.

Corporate ESG activity has increasingly moved beyond declarative goal-setting toward practical integration into manufacturing, quality control and community collaboration. ESG education programs have followed suit, incorporating direct visits to company facilities to give participants concrete examples of how such initiatives are put into practice.

The ESG Leading University program draws students from a range of backgrounds, including corporate executives, company employees, university professors and civil servants. After completing the program, participants are expected to promote ESG management practices in their respective fields.

"We will continue to share the ESG experience and know-how we have built up in a variety of ways, and work toward creating a sustainable virtuous cycle."
