A fire broke out at Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, with no injuries reported.
The blaze started at around 5:49 p.m. Friday on the escalator at exit No. 5 of Yeouido Station.
No casualties were reported, though the incident caused brief chaos as passengers evacuated the area.
The Yeongdeungpo Fire Station dispatched 14 vehicles and 58 personnel and fully extinguished the fire at around 6:34 p.m. — approximately 45 minutes after it broke out.
Exit No. 5 at Yeouido Station remains closed, while subway services are operating normally.
