Kim Min-sun surges to solo lead at Hana Financial Group Championship with bogey-free 65

Kim Min-sun fired a bogey-free, 5-under round on a demanding course Saturday to move into sole possession of the lead at the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour's Hana Financial Group Championship.

Playing at The Heaven Country Club in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, Kim carded five birdies in the third round to reach 8-under 208 for the tournament, sitting one stroke clear of the field. She is now chasing her second win of the season and third of her career, following her victory at the Nexen-Saint Nine Masters Tournament in April.

Jang Eun-su, who has gone bogey-free across all three rounds, picked up three birdies Saturday to post 7-under 209 and sit one shot back in second. Kim, who began the round tied for second, kept herself in contention by picking up two strokes on the front nine.

The par-3 holes proved particularly rewarding on the back nine. Kim sank a birdie putt from just over 3 meters on the par-3 12th, then stuck her tee shot to within 2 meters on the par-3 15th to pick up another stroke.

On the par-5 18th, her second shot found the rough, but she recovered with a precise approach to the green and finished with a birdie putt.

"There were many situations where I could aggressively attack the pin even from the rough," Kim said. "I haven't had a top-10 finish in the second half of the season yet, so I really want to finish this tournament with a good result."

Amateur national team member Yang Yun-seo, who is set to compete at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, made an aggressive charge with seven birdies against two bogeys for a 5-under round.

Yang, who recorded a tournament-best driving distance of 279 yards, moved into a share of third at 6-under 210, two strokes off the lead.

"I want to win a professional tournament even with the Asian Games coming up," Yang said. "There's still time before the Asian Games, so even if I get a good result here, I think I'll be able to prepare calmly again afterward."
