Arrest warrant sought for man who dined and dashed at 9 restaurants during repeat-offender period

A man in his 40s who had previously been punished for dining and dashing reoffended during his repeat-offender period and was taken into custody.

The Jincheon Police Station in North Chungcheong Province applied for an arrest warrant against the suspect, identified only as A, on charges of fraud and related offenses for habitually skipping out on restaurant bills, according to Yonhap.

A is accused of eating at nine restaurants in the Jincheon-gun and Cheongju areas between April and recently, consuming 1.1 million won ($797) worth of food before fleeing without paying.

He had a prior conviction for the same offense and reoffended while still within the legally designated repeat-offender period.

A also faces charges of stealing a victim's mobile phone at a convenience store in Jincheon on Friday while the two were drinking together.

Police said they sought the arrest warrant because A has no fixed address and poses a risk of reoffending.
