Korea Securities Depository will put AI agents built by its own employees to work in day-to-day operations, deploying the tools to address inefficiencies identified across the organization.

The depository announced Monday that it had wrapped up the "KSD AX Challenge 2026," a competition designed to strengthen employees' AI capabilities and drive workplace efficiency, selecting 10 outstanding entries from the submissions.

A total of 47 AI agents — created by staff using AIWORKS, the company's internal generative AI service — were submitted to the competition. After internal review and evaluation by a practical-verification panel, 10 were chosen as top entries based on their potential in areas such as regulatory and procedural guidance and operational support.

The selected agents include a tool that uses AI to pre-screen requests for proposals during the drafting process, and another that checks compliance with laws and guidelines related to human resources and labor. An agent that analyzes errors in SWIFT messages — the international financial messaging network — and generates sample messages was also among the winners.

The depository plans to deploy the winning agents as shared tools on AIWORKS, its company-wide AI portal, by October. It also intends to link them to the internal messaging platform used by employees as a chatbot assistant for internal inquiries, broadening AI accessibility across the organization.

The depository launched AIWORKS for employees in December last year and moved to upgrade the platform in April this year. It is integrating AIWORKS with digital workplace solutions to extend AI into actual work environments, and is conducting technical verification for in-house data processing and the application of a coding assistant for core business tasks.

"We will continue to strengthen employees' AI capabilities and drive internal efficiency, while also pursuing a phased transformation of financial infrastructure through AI, drawing on our accumulated experience in digital innovation," said Korea Securities Depository President Lee Yun-su.
