Company joins COEX social value festival with interactive exhibition booth
Volunteer group and epilepsy association collaborate on 18-piece media art installation
CEO Lee Dong-hoon pledges to go beyond treatment and walk alongside patients
SK Biopharm has launched an interactive exhibition connecting the voices of young epilepsy patients and their families with the broader public, as part of its commitment to sustainable social value.
The company is participating in the 3rd Korea Social Value Festa, running Monday and Tuesday at COEX in Seoul, with an exhibition booth titled "Flash Flash, Inside My Head — The Neuron Universe We Drew Together," featuring stories from children with epilepsy and their families.
Marking its third consecutive year at the festival, SK Biopharm designed the exhibition not merely to share medical information or first-aid guidance, but as a communication platform focused on the everyday lives and emotions of patients and caregivers. The exhibition draws on the results of "Epic Day," a social contribution program run jointly by the company's in-house volunteer group Haengbogieum and the Korea Epilepsy Association.
The exhibition space is divided into three zones — "My World," "A Day Together, Epic Day," and "Our Neuron Universe." The centerpiece, "Our Neuron Universe," transforms 18 artworks drawn by young patients into a darkroom-style media art installation using fiber-optic lighting and beam projectors, forming a single vast shared universe.
Artist None Z (real name Lee Ji-young), who has long channeled her own experience living with epilepsy into art, also took part, presenting both her signature works and collaborative pieces created with the young patients. Works not displayed at the venue will be featured through a separate online gallery.
The event highlights SK Biopharm — which has built a commanding global position with its innovative epilepsy drug cenobamate — moving beyond its core business of supplying treatments to establish a genuine ESG management model. That model encompasses quality of life and social inclusion for patients with central nervous system disorders, conditions that still carry significant social stigma.
"We have created meaningful connections through the process of listening to patients and families and deepening our understanding of one another through sustained engagement," SK Biopharm President Lee Dong-hoon said. "Going forward, we will continue to build a sustainable support network alongside patients, families, medical professionals and related organizations — going beyond the development of treatments."
