Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City will announce promotions for Grade 4 and above officials Wednesday, the first personnel reshuffle since the city's inaugural organizational restructuring.
According to the city, the promotions are being finalized for announcement Wednesday, just before the chuseok holiday break.
Personnel appointments for deputy heads of cities, counties and districts are expected to be announced after chuseok.
The Jeonnam Gwangju mayors, county chiefs and district mayors council recently called for guaranteed personnel autonomy, asking that deputy mayors, deputy county chiefs and deputy district mayors be promoted and appointed from within their respective local governments.
