The 14th Alumni Association President's Cup Golf Tournament, hosted by the Suncheon Middle and High School General Alumni Association to mark the school's 88th anniversary, was held at Golfzon County Suncheon Country Club (formerly Lake Hills) to a strong turnout.
The tournament, held Saturday at Golfzon County Country Club in Juam-myeon, Suncheon, drew 120 participants across 30 teams — alumni from the 23rd through 56th graduating classes of Suncheon High — who spent the day building camaraderie across generations.
A second-session program featured a performance by Joyful Ensemble, a professional arts group registered with South Jeolla Province, whose classical repertoire left a strong impression on attendees.
More than 20 alumni sponsored an array of prizes to enrich the event, drawing cheers and applause. They included Genesis BBQ Group Chairman Yoon Hong-geun (class of '25, 51st alumni association president), Park Cheol-hee (class of '26, senior vice president), CEO of Sesang Joeun Baram, Lee Dong-hyeon (class of '27), chairman of CS1879 Group, and Kim Yeong-gwon (class of '50), CEO of Yeosu U-World Luge Theme Park.
In the Shin Perio division, Im Yeong-gil (class of '31) took first place while Lee Byeong-hoe (class of '31) finished as runner-up. In the stroke division, Oh Dong-taek (class of '33) won and Bae Dong-mun (class of '24) was runner-up. All winners received trophies and premium golf products, and group, individual and special awards were also presented.
Officials from the Suncheon Maesan General Alumni Association also took part, including Maesan High School Alumni Association President Yoon Jeong-ho (class of '24) and Maesan Scholarship Foundation Chairman Jeong Jong-il (class of '26), whose friendly presence further strengthened ties between the two school communities.
Alumni Association President Shin Hyeon-il expressed his sincere gratitude to all who attended. "Under a clear autumn sky, coming together through golf to strengthen the bonds between Suncheon Middle and High School alumni — seniors and juniors alike — makes this occasion all the more meaningful," he said.
