Daegu Shinsegae opens revamped international designer floor for 10th anniversary

Daegu Shinsegae department store is marking its 10th anniversary with the grand opening of a dedicated international designer floor, aiming to build the strongest overseas fashion lineup in the area.

Shinsegae said Monday it has opened a new international designer gallery spanning about 4,950 square meters on the fourth floor of Daegu Shinsegae.

The floor brings together 34 brands, expanding fashion choices for customers in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province.

The store, which opened in 2016, has been carrying out a large-scale renovation across its floors to mark its 10th anniversary this year. It revamped its sports and casual section in February, followed by its women's fashion floor in June.

The earlier renovations have translated into measurable gains. After the sixth-floor women's fashion gallery was fully overhauled in June, sales in the women's fashion and contemporary categories rose 77.1 percent year-on-year in July and August, while the number of purchasing customers grew 75 percent over the same period.

The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the renovation, with a stronger brand mix and refreshed spaces driving both sales growth and increased foot traffic.

"We are consolidating major overseas fashion brands that were previously spread across multiple floors onto the fourth floor, while introducing a large number of new brands to significantly strengthen our specialist offering," a Daegu Shinsegae official said.
