Yeungnam University holds award ceremony for 80th anniversary emblem and slogan contest

Yeungnam University held an award ceremony Thursday for its "80th Anniversary Commemorative Emblem Design and Slogan Contest."

The university accepted submissions from Aug. 10 to Aug. 18, receiving 100 entries in the emblem design category and 166 in the slogan category.

After two rounds of judging, 15 winners were selected in the emblem design category — two grand prize winners, three excellence award winners and 10 encouragement award winners — while seven students received excellence awards in the slogan category.

The ceremony was held Thursday in the main conference room on the third floor of the university's main administrative building, where Yeungnam University President Choi Oe-chul presented certificates to the winning students in person.

"I hope that you, who won with outstanding ideas, and all Cheonma community members will carry in your hearts the words enshrined in our school song — 'Be creators of a new history, for our people and for all humanity,'" Choi said.
