Uiseong-gun chief joins chuseok traditional market shopping campaign

Uiseong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province is holding a chuseok, or Korean harvest festival, traditional market shopping event at four local markets from Saturday through Tuesday.

The event is being held in sequence at Bongyang Market, Geumseong Market, Angye Market and Uiseong Market.

Visits to Bongyang Market and Geumseong Market were held Saturday and Monday, respectively, both starting at 10 a.m., while Angye Market hosted its session Monday at 11 a.m. The final stop, Uiseong Market, takes place Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Uiseong-gun Chief Choi Yu-cheol has been visiting each market to personally purchase holiday ritual offerings and locally grown agricultural and specialty products, while speaking with vendors and listening to their concerns.

"I hope a warm holiday atmosphere spreads, with residents buying high-quality local agricultural and specialty products and holiday supplies at traditional markets and spending their money within the community," Choi said.
