Daegu Happiness Foundation holds Chuseok market shopping event

The Daegu Happiness Foundation held a Chuseok traditional market shopping event at Pyeonghwa Market in Sinam-dong, Dong-gu, on Monday.

About 30 foundation employees took part voluntarily, adding to the event's significance.

The participants walked through the market in Buk-gu, using Onuri gift vouchers to buy ritual food offerings for the holiday and Chuseok gifts to share with neighbors.

They also spoke directly with vendors, listened to their concerns and exchanged warm holiday greetings in a show of community solidarity.

Choi Hui-jae, acting head of the Daegu Happiness Foundation, said the foundation hoped its "modest visit would offer some small but genuine comfort and support to merchants going through a difficult time amid high prices."
