Dalseong-gun council leaders join welfare bazaar for people with disabilities

The leadership of the Daegu Dalseong-gun Council attended a charity bazaar held Thursday at the Dalseong-gun Welfare Center for the Disabled, joining efforts to support welfare services for people with disabilities.

The bazaar, themed "Adding +1°C to Our Neighborhood's Temperature," was organized by Dalhun Bongsa-dan, a leading volunteer group in Dalseong-gun. The group prepared 300 servings of tteokbokki, a spicy rice cake dish, using rice cakes donated by a local tteokbokki manufacturer, with proceeds to be donated to the welfare center at year's end.

Council leaders purchased tteokbokki and other items at the bazaar, contributing to the fundraising effort for residents with disabilities in the area.

Council Speaker Gwak Dong-hwan said he hoped the purchases would offer "even a small measure of help for the welfare of people with disabilities," adding that the Dalseong-gun Council would "press ahead with legislative activities for residents with disabilities in the region."

Deputy Speaker Kim I-seok said the bazaar was "a meaningful event for all residents, as it was hosted by the region's leading volunteer organization," and expressed hope that "more events practicing the value of sharing will be held going forward."
