KT to launch 'AI for All' beta service next month

KT Corp, selected as the final operator of the "AI for All" project, has taken its first steps toward building AI services that the general public can experience in everyday life. The company has established the "Eum Alliance" with its consortium partners and activated a cooperative service framework. The consortium plans to launch a beta service for "AI for All" next month and accelerate the expansion of an open AI ecosystem.

KT Corp held an "AI for All" consortium workshop Monday at its Gwanghwamun West Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, announcing Tuesday that it has formally launched a cooperative framework to deliver AI services that resonate with the public. The event brought together chief executives of KT Corp's key consortium partners and project managers from 16 participating companies to share the project's vision and direction.

AI for All is a project that delivers a range of AI models and services through a single platform. Users can access AI services across a wide range of areas — including information search, public services, education, finance and everyday convenience — through AI embedded in the platforms and services they already use.

KT Corp and its consortium partners will operate the Eum Alliance, which integrates the technology and service capabilities of each participating company.

The Eum Alliance comprises two bodies: the Eum Connect Board, a decision-making organ that sets the project's key direction, and the Eum Eco Round, a broader consultative body. Through these structures, the alliance aims to strengthen communication among participating organizations, regularly review progress and outcomes, and jointly manage key milestones and service launch targets. The consortium also plans to deepen inter-organizational ties to improve both the pace and quality of execution.

The Eum Connect Board will deliberate on the project's priorities, strategic direction and cross-organizational coordination tasks. Experts and operational leads from each field will participate to align service launch goals, coordinate collaborative tasks and sharpen the project's overall direction.

The alliance will also run separate service and platform working groups to manage execution across technical and service domains. The service group will handle user-centered AI service planning, user experience design, and the integration and launch of public and specialized services. The platform group will oversee the connection and integration of core technologies — including AI models, a token factory, data, infrastructure and APIs.

The KT consortium will unveil a beta version of AI for All next month. Eum Inside is an open AI ecosystem that embeds AI into a wide range of services used by the public and connects them through a single general-purpose AI agent. KT Corp plans to expand the AI for All ecosystem through an open architecture that allows new AI model and service companies to join.

"The launch of the KT consortium is a starting point for bringing together the AI models, platforms and service capabilities of domestic AI companies to build AI services that people can genuinely feel in their daily lives," said Lee Jin-hyeong, head of KT Corp's AX Business Division. "We will strengthen cooperation among participating companies through the Eum Alliance and raise the project's execution capacity."
