Yangyang-Jeju route launched Sept. 30 last year
Airline to hand out thank-you letters, traditional sweets on Chuseok flights
Parata Air announced Tuesday that it will distribute thank-you letters from staff and traditional Korean sweets to passengers on all flights during the Chuseok holiday, marking both its first anniversary and the holiday season.
The airline launched its inaugural service on the Yangyang-Jeju route on Sept. 30 last year, beginning full commercial operations. The Yangyang-Jeju route holds symbolic significance as Parata Air's first domestic route and the first service it ever operated.
From Sept. 30 last year through Aug. 31 this year — a span of roughly 11 months — Parata Air operated 1,255 one-way flights on the Yangyang-Jeju route, carrying 177,741 passengers. The airline is also preparing to expand international services out of Yangyang in stages, starting with a Yangyang-Shanghai route.
Its network has grown rapidly over the past year. Following the launch of domestic services, the airline began international operations to Japan and Vietnam in November last year and this year expanded its international network to include Sapporo and Hanoi.
In November, the airline is set to launch its first China route, to Shenzhen. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport allocated traffic rights for Shanghai and Hangzhou to Parata Air this month, and the airline's China network is expected to expand further.
The thank-you letters to be distributed onboard carry messages of gratitude from staff to customers who have chosen and supported Parata Air since its inaugural flight. Traditional Korean sweets will also be offered to add a festive touch to passengers' Chuseok holiday travel.
"Starting from that first flight from Yangyang to Jeju on Sept. 30 last year, a full year has passed with our customers before we knew it," a Parata Air official said. "We will continue to put safety first and deliver a better travel experience through Parata Air's unique service, so that we can repay the support you have shown us over the past year."
