Over 24.8 million reviews of 300-plus airlines tallied
Best Economy Class, best economy catering also claimed
Best Airline in Asia for fifth consecutive year
Singapore Airlines announced Tuesday it has been named the World's Best Airline at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, marking the sixth time it has claimed the top honor.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are an annual global program organized by the British airline-service rating agency Skytrax, based on a customer satisfaction survey of air travelers worldwide. The 2026 survey ran from September 2025 through August 2026, covering more than 300 airlines and drawing more than 24.8 million reviews.
In addition to World's Best Airline, Singapore Airlines also took home awards for World's Best Economy Class and World's Best Economy Class Catering. Its Best Airline in Asia title marks five consecutive years of winning that category.
Scoot, Singapore Airlines' low-cost carrier subsidiary, was named World's Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline for the sixth consecutive year at the awards ceremony held in London on Friday.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong thanked customers for their "unwavering trust and support," adding that the airline "continually strives to deliver an exceptional travel experience to customers on every journey." He said the recognition "would not have been possible without the professionalism and dedication of our staff, who have maintained the highest standards of service and operational excellence."
Scoot CEO Leslie Thng said he was "delighted" to be named World's Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline for the sixth year running. "We are grateful to our customers and partners for their continued support, and we will keep enhancing the customer experience through ongoing innovation and reliable operations," he added.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted called the results "a very meaningful achievement," saying Singapore Airlines' recognition as the world's best and Scoot's win in the long-haul low-cost category "reflect the high standard of product and service that the Singapore Airlines Group has delivered to its customers — something the group's management and staff can all take great pride in."
Singapore Airlines has also received a string of other accolades, including Fortune's World's Most Admired Companies for 2026, World's Best Airline at the 2025 Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards, and World's Best Airline at the 2025 DestinAsian Awards.
