Dongbu wins W193.3b Toegyewon District 4 redevelopment contract, expanding Centreville brand

Dongbu Construction has won the contract for the Toegyewon District 4 redevelopment project in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The project, valued at about 193.3 billion won ($140 million), will create a 557-unit residential complex to be branded Centreville The Porta.

Dongbu Construction announced Tuesday that it had been selected as the contractor for the Toegyewon District 4 housing redevelopment project in Toegyewon-eup, Namyangju.

The project will develop a site at 82-13 Toegyewon-ri, Toegyewon-eup, Namyangju into a residential complex of up to 23 above-ground floors and three below-ground floors, comprising 557 units along with ancillary welfare facilities. The total floor area is about 90,000 square meters, and construction is expected to take approximately 42 months.

Dongbu Construction proposed the Centreville The Porta brand for the development. "Porta" is Latin for gate or gateway, reflecting Toegyewon's geographic role as a link between Seoul and Namyangju.

The company plans to apply Centreville's signature design to the complex's exterior, landscaping and community facilities, with the aim of setting the development apart from existing residential complexes in the area.

Key factors in winning the contract included the Centreville brand and its specialized design, exterior and landscaping tailored to the site's characteristics, financial support ensuring project stability, and smart construction technology and quality management capabilities.

The site offers access to Toegyewon Station on the Gyeongchun Line, the Seoul Ring Expressway and the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway. Its proximity to the Byeollae and Dasan new towns gives future residents access to schools, shopping and cultural facilities, while the Wangsukcheong stream and nearby parks are also close at hand.

Nearby development activity includes the Wangsukcheong new town, a military site redevelopment and other improvement projects in the Toegyewon area. Dongbu Construction said it plans to use this contract as a springboard to expand the Centreville brand across more Greater Seoul redevelopment projects.

Dongbu Construction has previously delivered Centreville-branded complexes in major Seoul neighborhoods, including Yeokchon Centreville Asterium Signature, Centreville Asterium Yeongdeungpo and Banpo Centreville Asterium. The builder has recently been broadening the brand's reach to cover metropolitan area redevelopment projects and public housing.

"We will complete a Centreville complex that truly represents the Toegyewon area through differentiated products and high quality that fully realize the site's locational advantages and future value."
