Mapo-gu District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun chaired the "2026 Third Integrity Promotion Council Meeting" Tuesday afternoon in the eighth-floor conference room of the Mapo-gu district office, reaffirming the value of integrity that public officials are expected to uphold.
About 30 people attended, including the deputy district mayor, bureau chiefs and heads of relevant departments. Participants shared updates on initiatives to build an integrity-driven organizational culture and on anti-corruption activities, and discussed areas requiring improvement and the direction of future reforms.
Yoo said officials should reflect on whether any unreasonable practices had been overlooked simply out of habit, and that areas in need of improvement must be corrected without hesitation.
He particularly said communication is the starting point of an integrity-driven organizational culture, urging senior officials to listen closely to employees and pay attention to the difficulties they encounter in their work.
"Integrity is not achieved through a single inspection or training session — it begins with the everyday practice of respecting one another and handling work fairly," Yoo said. "Building on the tasks discussed today, we will make Mapo a district that earns even greater trust from its residents."
Mapo-gu has been working to foster a culture of everyday integrity and a healthy organizational environment, including by holding an employee-participatory integrity festival last August that featured an anti-corruption campaign and a talk concert.
