Korea Housing Builders Association's Busan chapter donates to low-income single-parent families ahead of Chuseok

The Korea Housing Builders Association's Busan chapter donated 10 million won ($7,350) to the Nam-gu District Office on Wednesday to support low-income single-parent families ahead of the Chuseok holiday. The contribution aims to ensure that families in difficult circumstances are not left behind during the holiday and can celebrate it warmly and comfortably.

Park Jae-bok, chairman of the association's Busan chapter, met with Nam-gu District Mayor Park Jae-beom at the donation ceremony. "We were moved to make this donation out of a sincere hope that not a single family would be left out during Chuseok — that everyone could spend the holiday in warmth," Park said. He added that the housing industry would redouble its efforts to supply affordable homes so that more ordinary people could secure a place to live.

The donated funds are to be distributed to low-income single-parent families in Nam-gu and are expected to be used for purchasing daily necessities. A district office official said the funds would be disbursed transparently and promptly to provide meaningful help to those in need in the community.

Meanwhile, the Korea Housing Builders Association is a statutory body whose members include housing construction companies from across the country. Its core activities include policy recommendations to stabilize housing conditions for ordinary citizens and expand housing supply, promotion of cooperation among member companies, and social contribution initiatives. The Busan chapter, which represents the local housing construction industry, has consistently carried out community-sharing activities to improve residential welfare for Busan residents and foster mutual growth with the broader community.
