Gyeongsan to keep clinics, pharmacies open through Chuseok holiday

Gyeongsan city in North Gyeongsang Province announced Wednesday that clinics, hospitals and pharmacies will remain open during the 2026 Chuseok holiday to ensure residents can access medical care and medications.

The emergency rooms at Gyeongsan Jungang Hospital and Semyung General Hospital — both designated regional emergency medical institutions — will operate around the clock throughout the holiday period.

In addition, a total of 88 facilities will be open, including 42 clinics and hospitals and 46 pharmacies.

Information on facilities open during the holiday can be found on the Gyeongsan Public Health Center website's notice board and through the Emergency Medical Services portal.

Residents can also obtain information by calling the 119 Emergency Medical Dispatch Center or the Health and Welfare Counseling Center at 129.

The information is also available through the "emergency care" or "holiday care" tabs on Naver Maps and Kakao Map.

However, operating hours may change depending on individual facilities' circumstances, so residents are advised to call ahead before visiting to confirm hours.

"We encourage everyone to check in advance which nearby hospitals and pharmacies will be open, in case urgent medical attention is needed during the holiday," said Ahn Byung-suk, head of the public health center. "We will work closely with medical institutions and pharmacies to ensure all residents can enjoy a healthy and safe Chuseok with their families."
