Dongguk University WISE Campus holds Chuseok traditional games festival for international students

Dongguk University WISE Campus held the "2026 International Students' Chuseok Traditional Games Festival" at Baeksang Convention Hall on Tuesday.

The event ran from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the morning, students took part in a range of traditional Korean games, including yutnori (a board game played with wooden sticks), jegichagi (hacky sack), ddakjichigi (a paper-flipping game), tuho (arrow-throwing) and paengichigi (top-spinning).

In the afternoon, participants formed teams and competed in a cooperative traditional games tournament. Side events included a hanbok dress-up area and a photo wall, where students could try on traditional Korean attire and capture memories of the Chuseok holiday.

Lee Yu-gyeong, head of the Office of International Affairs at Dongguk University WISE Campus, said the university would continue to expand programs that help international students settle comfortably into campus life and connect with a diverse range of peers.
