North Gyeongsang police chief conducts aerial patrol of highways on first day of chuseok holiday

North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency Commissioner Park Heon-su conducted an aerial patrol over major highways Thursday, the first day of the chuseok holiday, to monitor traffic conditions and prepare for congestion caused by a surge in homebound vehicles.

The patrol focused on key sections expected to experience heavy congestion, including the Gimcheon junction on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway, the Geumho junction on the Gyeongbu Expressway and the Seo-Andong interchange on the Jungang Expressway, with officers surveying vehicle flow and bottlenecks from the air.

During the patrol, Park maintained radio contact with the expressway patrol unit commander to receive real-time updates on traffic volume, congestion levels, accident reports and on-scene response measures along major stretches, while reviewing overall traffic management operations.

Park urged field officers to "do their utmost in traffic management so that residents can travel to and from their hometowns safely and comfortably throughout the chuseok holiday."
