308.3 billion won construction cost to yield 962-unit complex of up to 45 stories; integrated review submission targeted by year-end
The Changdong Sangah 1 apartment complex in Seoul's Dobong-gu has become the first project under the district's fast-track integrated planning program to select a contractor, marking the formal launch of its reconstruction.
Dobong-gu announced Friday that Korea Land Trust, the project operator for the Changdong Sangah 1 reconstruction, had selected Hoban Construction — whose brand name is Hoban Summit — as the general contractor.
The Changdong Sangah 1 complex, along with the Ssangmun Hanyang 1 complex, is among the fastest-moving reconstruction projects in Seoul.
The project will invest a total of approximately 308.3 billion won ($227 million) to transform the site into a complex of up to 45 stories comprising 962 residential units and supporting community facilities.
The complex was designated a redevelopment zone in April 2025, and Korea Land Trust was appointed as project operator that October, keeping the initiative on an accelerated timeline.
The project team is currently preparing documents for the integrated review process and plans to submit the application before the end of the year.
"It is meaningful that a contractor has been selected for Dobong-gu's first fast-track integrated planning project," District Mayor Kim Dong-wook said. "We will actively support efforts to dramatically improve the residential environment of aging housing complexes through swift housing supply."
