App-based sign-up available anytime; rewards of up to 1 million won on offer
Shinsegae Department Store will launch a dedicated membership program for engaged and newlywed couples called the Wedding Vow Club on Tuesday, in line with a rise in marriages.
Couples may join up to one year before their wedding date or within six months after the ceremony. Applications can be submitted at any time through the Shinsegae Department Store app by uploading supporting documents such as a wedding hall contract.
Members receive a welcome package to help with wedding preparations, including 1.2 million won ($882) in Saleage benefits — redeemable in the fashion and accessories categories — spread over six months. Complimentary beverages at the Members Bar and free parking vouchers are also included.
Benefits grow with spending. On top of existing perks such as gift events for luxury goods, fashion, watches and jewelry, and promotions on home appliances and furniture, members earn a bonus reward of up to 1 percent of cumulative purchases at their enrolled store, capped at 1 million won.
The program also offers partnership benefits across more than 120 brands, covering watches and jewelry, fashion and cosmetics, and home appliances and furniture — including standing discounts, purchase gifts and engraving services. The store has expanded the scope of trousseau-related perks to cover the full wedding-preparation process.
Benefits extend beyond the department store itself to affiliates across Shinsegae Group, including Shinsegae International's fashion and beauty brands, Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets, Shinsegae Duty Free and Shinsegae Casa.
"We have created this new wedding membership so that customers preparing for marriage can access the benefits they need more easily and conveniently," said Lee Seong-hwan, executive director of sales strategy at Shinsegae Department Store. "We will offer differentiated wedding benefits that cover the full range of needs before and after the wedding — from engagement rings and wedding attire to trousseau, honeymoon and setting up a new home."
