Korea Employment Information Service adds 7 free online courses for middle-aged job seekers

The Korea Employment Information Service has added seven online courses to its Cyber Career Education Center to help middle-aged job seekers return to work, expanding a curriculum that had previously focused on younger users to cover career transitions and re-employment preparation for older workers.

According to the agency, the new courses cover setting re-employment goals, researching the labor market and job listings, building a job-search plan, writing career statements and preparing for interviews. Each course consists of two to three sessions and is designed to help job seekers assess their experience and strengths before applying them to application documents and interviews.

Live video sessions will also run 10 times from Monday through Oct. 19. Five sessions target college students and young adults, three are aimed at middle-aged participants, and two are open to both age groups. Topics include using generative AI for job preparation and developing job-function-focused search strategies, with each session capped at 60 participants.

Both the online courses and the live video sessions are free. Applicants can register by logging in to the Cyber Career Education Center website and selecting either option under the "Education Guide" menu.
