Airbnb listings now searchable on Naver

Travelers searching for overseas accommodation will now be able to compare hotels and Airbnb listings side by side on Naver. The tie-up between South Korea's largest portal and the global home-sharing platform is expected to make browsing and comparing lodging options abroad significantly easier.

Airbnb announced Monday that it has launched a search integration with Naver, letting users find Airbnb listings for overseas destinations and check real-time rates and availability directly through Naver's unified search.

When a user searches a keyword combining a destination and accommodation type — such as "Osaka accommodation" — Naver displays a mix of hotels and Airbnb listings together. Clicking "see more" takes the user to the hotel tab within Naver Travel, where Airbnb properties can be viewed alongside other options, or a newly introduced "shared accommodation" tab can be selected to browse Airbnb listings exclusively. Searching keywords related to shared accommodation brings up results consisting entirely of Airbnb properties and links directly to that tab.

Selecting a listing from the search results shows detailed information including photos, amenities and reviews, along with live pricing and availability, before redirecting the user to Airbnb to complete the booking. The Airbnb properties surfaced through Naver are limited to overseas listings that meet certain standards, including high guest ratings. A "guest favorite" badge — awarded to properties that meet set criteria for ratings, reviews and reliability — is also displayed alongside each listing to make comparisons easier.

Seo Ga-yeon, country manager of Airbnb Korea, said the integration was designed to make it more convenient for Korean users to discover and compare Airbnb's overseas listings through Naver, a platform they already rely on when planning trips and searching for places to stay. "We will continue to pay close attention to how Korean travelers plan their trips and choose accommodation, and keep working to ensure they can find Airbnb wherever they naturally turn," she said.
