Democratic Party to hold party-government talks on future response fund, local tax reform Tuesday

The Democratic Party of Korea plans to hold a party-government consultation on the future response fund and local allocation tax reform on Tuesday.

Park Sung-jun, the Democratic Party's chief spokesperson, told reporters after a supreme council meeting at the National Assembly on Monday that the Ministry of Planning and Budget would prepare a briefing and discussion on the progress of the future response fund, while the Ministry of Interior and Safety would handle the session on local allocation tax issues and local government trends.

From the party side, the meeting is expected to be attended by Democratic Party leader Kim Min-seok, floor leader Han Byung-do, policy committee chair Kwon Chil-seung, National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee Chairman Lee Gwang-jae, National Assembly Interior and Safety Committee Chairman Kim Young-jin, and Rep. Lee Hae-sik, who leads the ruling party's side on the Interior and Safety Committee. From the government side, Minister of Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung and Minister of Planning and Budget Park Hong-keun are set to attend. Democratic Party-affiliated local government heads will also participate in discussions on local allocation tax reform.
