720 Seoul high school students to receive large-scale, one-on-one in-person counseling covering high school credit system course selection, career guidance and college entrance strategies
Gwangjin-gu will partner with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Education Research and Information Institute to operate the "2026 Special College Counseling Center for 10th and 11th Graders" at the Gwangjin-gu District Office main auditorium on Oct. 24 and 25.
The counseling center is a large-scale program hosted by the institute, with 720 students from across Seoul taking part.
Sessions will be held across 40 booths, with each consultation running 40 minutes. Eighty active teachers affiliated with the university admissions guidance support team will provide one-on-one counseling covering course selection under the high school credit system and college entrance strategies.
Gwangjin-gu will separately recruit 72 of the 720 spots for its own residents. Gwangjin-gu students may apply through the district office website from Monday through Oct. 8, while students from other Seoul districts may register through the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's research and information institute website starting Oct. 12. "This counseling center will help students map out practical college plans amid a changing educational environment, including the high school credit system," Gwangjin-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said. "Gwangjin-gu will continue to actively support equal access to education so that every student can prepare for the future on a level playing field."
